North County Churches Home Delivered Meals

Home Delivered MealsOceanview Church is one of several ministry partners that provides affordable, balanced meals to the home-bound in northern Palm Beach County.

Home Delivered Meals Program Information:

North County Churches Home Delivered Meals started in 1978 by representatives from various churches. We serve Tequesta and parts of Jupiter. The meals are prepared by Jupiter Medical Center and delivered by volunteers. Why do we do this? We deliver meals to homes simply because some recipients typically are unable to do their own shopping or cooking. Recipients pay $5.00 for each meal. Should that consititute a burdon, then financial aid is available. Finanical aid is awarded, pending a questionnaire and verification.

Throughout the year, volunteers from Oceanview UMC deliver meals to homes either one day a week or partner with another volunteers to work out scheduled deliveries. Volunteers also work as “subs” for delivery when needed as situations arise.

Our current needs:  we need volunteer drivers, substitute drivers.  Drive 5 days a week, pick up at the Jupiter Hospital Cafeteria 11:00 am. Takes no more than 1-1/2 normally.  People love to see us come and many REALLY need the nutritional meals.

Cost for the Service: if you know anyone needing this service, is $5.00/day but if on a fixed income people can contact Lori Vassalotti 745-8000 or 248-1893 for cost.

We encourage donations of both time and money to support this ministry. Because how much we can help others, depends on you!
